founded in merano, italy in 1962 by dino gavina and cesare cassina was successful
right from the onset with its visionary concept "light poetry".
The two founders became pioneers in the industrial design sector, one reason
being that they supported young designers such as achille and pier giacomo
castiglioni in the 1960s and in the 1980s philippe starck and jasper morrison.
what's more, the company liked to experiment with forms and new materials.
